Shift work has increased enormously during our modern era, which can pose many difficulties and cause increased stress to employees. Fatigue due to shift-work decreases productivity, increases accidents, changes mood, lowers resistance to infection and affects most body functioning. This workshop focuses on the impact and causes of shift work stsress on sleep, energy cycles, health and relationships and provides practical stress management strategies based on the S-O-S PrincipleTM to reduce the negative impact.
OUTLINE:
This workshop will help participants to identify their sources and causes of stress related to shift work. Stress management strategies will center on reducing the impact of shift work stress on sleep, illness and support by answering questions on how much sleep do we need, how we know if we are getting enough sleep, what stress management strategies are important to maintain health as a shift-worker and how can we keep connected to those around us.
